Hunting days, gear, and bag limits vary by unit. Detailed descriptions of statewide hunting opportunities are available on the State Department of Lands and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife website.

Hunters should know:

  • A valid hunting license and game bird stamp are required for all game bird hunting on public and private lands
  • Landowner permission is required to hunt on private land
  • Hunters should familiarize themselves with Title 13, Chapter 122, Administrative Rules of Hawaii
  • To comply with state and federal regulations, the last day to hunt mourning doves will be January 15, 2023

Recreational hunting provides opportunities to engage with nature and practice responsible, sustainable and safe use of our public and private lands and resources. You can help protect this activity by supporting wildlife conservation by reporting game law violations to the Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement by calling 643-DLNR (3567) or reporting via the DLNRTip app.
